Kearney County Nebraska 52

Hastings Area Cameras
Kearney County is a rural agricultural county in south-central Nebraska, centered on Minden, the county seat. The county spans rolling plains between the Platte River valley to the north and the Republican River drainage basin to the south — some of the most productive agricultural land in the central plains. Kearney County is home to Harold Warp's Pioneer Village in Minden, one of the most comprehensive private museum collections in the United States.
Kearney County was formally organized in 1860, with Lowell serving as the first county seat before the seat relocated to Minden in 1878. The county remains largely rural, with six communities — five incorporated villages (Minden, Axtell, Wilcox, Heartwell, Norman) and one historically significant unincorporated community (Lowell) — spread across its agricultural landscape. License plate: #52.
