Description

This History Nebraska marker, about 2 miles southeast of Oak on the Oak–Ruskin road near the Little Blue, marks the original town site. A gristmill was built here in 1882 and the town was platted in April 1884; when the Fremont, Elkhorn & Missouri Valley Railroad arrived in 1888, every business but the mill moved two miles west. The White Oak Roller Mills ran into the 1940s and were razed in 1977.
