About Norway
Norway is an unincorporated place in Thomas County, at 2,920 feet near the Middle Loup River, about 7 miles west of Thedford and 7 miles east-southeast of Seneca.
History
Norway grew up in the 1880s when the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad was built up the Middle Loup valley; it was one of the county’s five early railroad stations, with Natick, Halsey, Thedford and Seneca. Its post office ran from 1887 to 1935. It was probably named for the many early settlers who came from Norway.
