The Perkins County Historical Society runs the Perkins County Museum at 605 Central Ave. in Grant, staffed entirely by volunteers. It has three buildings: a restored 1905 house with stained glass, pocket doors and period furnishings; the District 8 country school, moved in from west of Brandon, with its original desks and old high school annuals from around the county; and an exhibit hall with community, military and local-history displays and a 12,500-piece pen and pencil collection. The museum is open Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.–noon from May to New Year's, with a Christmas display from the Thursday before Thanksgiving; tours by appointment at (308) 352-4977.
