Old Mill Days is Neligh's celebration over the Fourth of July weekend; in 2026 it ran July 2–5. Events have included a color run, the Grand Parade at noon on July 4, tours of the Neligh Mill State Historic Site and the New Moon Community Theatre, a duck derby at the Riverside Park swinging bridge, and a kids' fishing contest and fireworks at Fred Penn Lake, with the fireworks sponsored by the Neligh Young Men's Club. A statue of town founder John D. Neligh was dedicated at the mill on July 5, 2026.
