Grant City Park fills 8½ acres along Central Avenue between 8th and 9th Streets in Grant. The Works Progress Administration built it in 1936–39 at the urging of the local garden club, with an arched concrete band shell (free summer concerts were held there into the 1960s), benches, stone entrances, a rock garden and tennis courts; a swimming pool was added in the 1960s, and the city's newer pool is in the park's northeast corner. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
