The Dawson County Courthouse, 700 N. Washington St. in Lexington, is a three-story Beaux Arts building by Omaha architect William F. Gernandt, built in 1913–14 on a rusticated Bedford limestone base for $90,140. It replaced a two-story brick courthouse of 1873–74. A county office building was added in 1955–56 and a law enforcement center in 1993. It has been on the National Register of Historic Places since January 10, 1990.
