Bassway Strip Wildlife Management Area lies on the north channel of the Platte south of Kearney: from I-80 Exit 279, go ¼ mile south on NE 10, then east on the county road. The 2016 state hunting guide lists 915 acres, including two fishing lakes of about 39 acres, and there is a canoe and kayak landing. No target shooting.
