Federal place-name records list Brady, Brady's Crossing and Vista as other names for the spot. A 1925 book of Nebraska place names says Vista was first called Brady for a pioneer family and later renamed for its views; a 1912 county map shows Vista here. Where the name Willis came from is not recorded.
