Kennedy Cemetery serves the small community of Kennedy in the middle of the county. It dates from 1889, when Cyrus King — who carried the mail from Valentine by team and wagon, once a week — approached the Reverend J. M. Bate about establishing a burial ground.

Around 21 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.

For burial records or plot inquiries, contact the Cherry County Clerk in Valentine. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
