Hayes Center Wildlife Management Area, known locally as Camp Hayes, covers 119 acres in northeastern Hayes County, about 7 miles northeast of Hayes Center. Camp Hayes Lake, about 32 acres, has a single-lane concrete boat ramp, and there is a camping and picnic area at the lake’s northwest end. Open to fishing, hunting and primitive camping under Nebraska Game and Parks rules.
